We have seen several movies and TV series that show various scenarios such as robots, voice-controlled appliances, and all that sci-fi stuff. But are they happening in the real-life scenario? The answer is yes! But not all of it.
Artificial intelligence has been widely ideated and spoken about ever since its portrayal in various movies such as Star Wars, James Bond series, and many science fiction movies. Although the basic research and theory in the early 1950s inspired several movies that we see today, applications of AI have also come a long way in implementing various ideas and innovations into actual practice, and through the ages, AI has inspired innovations in various fields which has brought efficiency and have been implemented in various sectors.
Now that the use of AI may sound all fancy and futuristic, there are many AI applications that we use in our daily lives. It might surprise that some forms of AI are hiding in plain sight.
Sounds exciting to know that many AI applications are used in our daily lives, doesn’t it? If you are relying on technology for your daily activities such as your laptops, mobile phones, etc. then you are naturally relying on artificial intelligence. To make our lives easier, some mails which are potentially fraudsters or mails that are impertinent. These mails are automatically marked as spam and thus keeping us away from being distracted.
- Professional occupancies: Now this is an esoteric form of AI application where only a certain sect of people can use. Let’s take an example of musicians who frequently require company and gears to practice. Classical musicians can now utilise an app for NaadSadhana on iOS which gives simulations of tanpura, swaramandal and tabla. This app plays music, improvises and adapts as per the musician’s method! It almost gives the same feeling of a group session with other expert musicians in a real-life setup.
Every app that has been developed has made things easier for us. Many developments and innovations are taking place in various sectors. In medicine, defense, finance, transportation, etc. many research and development are being done to improve efficiency and bring higher impact. Not only AI is making our lives easy but it is also adding value to them. And that time is not far away from where AI will save lives as well.
