    Current Technologies in AI

    An experiential session for better understanding of AI features such as Camera Vision, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing etc.


    Origins of AI

    Students will explore how the concept of AI started, and create an AI program using computer vision tools such as image and text recognition to identify the faces and shapes of numbers from a series of image data.


    Weather Forecast & AI

    Students will create an AI program that performs a “web request from URL” function and incorporate regular expressions to access the weather information of different places from around the world.


    Branding a machine as “Artificially Intelligent”

    Students explore the classifications of Intelligence and how to define a system/robot as 'Artificially Intelligent' in this session. They will create an AI “conversational agent” program that will carry out Textual Classification through word extraction and comparison processes.


    Stages in AI Development

    Students will explore each of the stages involved in AI development by creating an AI program that will carry out image classification and emotion recognition from image data and in turn display human-like responses.


    Machine Intelligence & Human Intelligence

    Students will discuss the types of AI used in daily life. They will compare the difference between Human and Machine intelligence by exploring how an AI program would perform human cognitive processes such as differentiating words, colors etc.


    Model behind AI Systems

    Students will create an AI program that utilizes and learns from sensory inputs to simulate how Robots will use AI for navigation.


    Architecture of AI:
    Students will perform an analysis of different AI architecture through activities

    1. Develop and train an AI game through ML models to recognize hand gestures and label them into appropriate actions.


    1. Create an AI program that will perceive and identify the age and gender from different human face data.


    1. Build an AI program that will use emotion recognition tools to evaluate different human face data.


    1. Create and train an AI “Face Tracker” program using a combination of computer vision tools and machine learning models.


    Coded Bias [Part 2]

    Students will explore and discuss how facial recognition technology and AI algorithms identify bias in a training dataset and extend the training set to address the bias.


    Capstone Projects

     Students will design and work on a first project using the PBL {Project Based Learning Framework} that applies AI to solve a problem. Instructors will guide the students using Design Thinking concepts.
